We are an engineering consulting firm working on infrastructure and industrial projects in northeastern Ontario. Our team works closely with municipal and private clients, designing projects and supporting the procurement process. Our New Liskeard office is home to a dedicated group of 8 engineers/project managers and 25 employees. Our office has a range of staff including CAD draft persons, Civil and Mechanical Engineers, Surveyors, Technicians and Technologists, and support staff.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

·         Lead the CAD/drafting strategy for projects; set drawing standards and templates.

·         Delegate and review work of intermediate/junior technologists.

·         Provide QA/QC checks on drawings, models, and documents.

·         Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D (corridors, grading, pipe networks), GIS, Bluebeam, and possibly MicroStation depending on clients.

·         Application of Ontario standards and guidelines (OPSS, MTO, municipal standards).

·         Constructability reviews and value engineering input.

·         Site inspections, quantity take-offs, field measurements, RFI responses.

·         Contract Administration support: shop drawing reviews, redlines, as-built validation.

·         Estimating and quantities, level-of-effort planning for drafting/design tasks.

·         Schedule tracking and risk/issue identification.

·         Assist with tender packages and bid addenda.

·         Direct client liaison (with PM support), responses to comments, coordinating with utilities and approval agencies.

·         Support public consultation materials (exhibits, visuals) when required.

·         Ensure designs/drawings comply with municipal bylaws, ESA, environmental constraints, and accessibility standards.

Qualifications

·         Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) with OACETT membership; RCSI or RCCA designation considered an asset.

·         5+ years of relevant experience in civil engineering design, preferably in a consulting environment in Ontario.

·         Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (mandatory) and experience with Bentley InRoads (asset).

·         Strong computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel) and MS Project.

·         Experience in municipal infrastructure design, including roads, water, and sewer systems; familiarity with MTO highway design and structural design is an asset.

·         Experience in land development projects, including preliminary and detailed design drawing preparation.

·         Familiarity with municipal, regional, and provincial design/drafting standards (OPS/OPSS, MTO).

·         Field survey experience and ability to support construction administration.

·         Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·         Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

·         Reliable transportation for travel to multiple site locations, including remote areas.
