Compensation & Benefits Information
• Rate of pay ranges from: $31.81 per hour to $33.18 per hour as per the SEIU-Service Collective Agreement

• Percent in lieu and vacation percent pay up to 18%, as per the SEIU-Service Collective Agreement
Job Summary:
The Ward Clerk is responsible for maintaining good communication between various members of the health team, patients, hospital departments and other facilities and to assist with the operation of the department they are assigned too and quality patient care. The Ward Clerk provides a combination of secretarial and clerical support to the unit and other departments.
Qualifications:
Education:
Certifications and Registrations
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent plus related experience.
• Successful completion of Medical Terminology course an asset
Skill, Ability & Experience:
• Bilingualism in French & English at an advanced level is mandatory
• Experience working as a Ward Clerk in a Hospital setting is an asset
• Demonstrates competent clerical skills, working knowledge of medical terminology essential
• Demonstrate computer knowledge and acceptable level of keyboarding proficiency
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and telephone skills and ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health care team
• Ability to meet deadlines
