Job Title:  Tem Ag Centre Operations Manager
Location:  Thornloe, ON

Co-op Regionale is seeking a motivated Operation Manager to join our team! This is a dynamic, hands- on role for someone looking to build a rewarding career in agriculture. This is a Maternity leave coverage but may lead to a permanent position.

Job Responsibilities

  • Help run day-to-day operations at the Tem Ag Facility. Work with the Feed Team, Agronomy Team and Elevator Team to keep workflow running smoothly.
  • Manage facility fleet; keep maintenance schedule regular, ensure timely fleet repairs etc.
  • Preform month-end duties using accounting software and help ensure all bills are paid
  • Help coordinate schedules and logistics with transportation team
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and help develop new relationships
  • Help ensure proper product storage and handling procedures are followed throughout the site
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the facility
  • All training for the above tasks will be provided.
  • Depending on season, willing to work and support different operations.
  • In the fall, support elevator operations, with help receiving, sample, weigh and grade grain deliveries.
  • In the spring support crop inputs operations, including receiving, blending and delivering seed, fertilizer and crop protection products.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the agriculture sector would be considered an asset
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain professional/ mature demeanor under stressful situations
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail is an asset
  • Positive customer service abilities
  • Quick problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of local agricultural community and practices is beneficial
  • Willingness to work flexible hours during peak seasons


Working Conditions

  • Full-time position with more hours during peak seasons
  • Physical activity required
  • Working in changing weather conditions
  • Mix of office, warehouse and outside work
  • Exposure to dust, odors and noise
  • Occasional working at heights
  • After hours responsibilities
  • PPE usage
  • Work around forklifts, loaders trucks, grain elevators, augers, conveyors and dryers
  • Multi tasking in high-volume, time sensitive environments
  • Walking 1km distance across the site
