Wabi Iron & Steel Corp. has an opening for a Casting Finisher.

This is a full-time, permanent position, scheduled Monday to Thursday, 40 hours per week.

Duties

Handles materials, tools and equipment manually and/or by electric hoist or chain block.

• Positions castings on a work bench or floor.
• Removes any residual gates and risers with a swing grinder.
• Removes any fins, nails, chaplets with hammer and chisel, cut-off saw or arc air.
• Grinds/ conditions all gates, feeder connections, swells and rough areas as per drawing.
• Places finished work on pallets, floor or in tote boxes as specified by the supervisor.
• Reports any defects in material, tools and equipment to the Supervisor or Leadhand.
• Straightens castings.
• Load and operate ovens as directed.
• Pulls loaded car of hot castings from oven with fork lift.
• Positions and starts up cooling fans as directed to cool castings down to specified temperature.
• Separates heads/runners/feeders by alloy; puts in/on container/pallets.

```Requirements```

To grind and weld castings, load and operate heat treat ovens and perform various duties in cleaning room. Swing and hand grinder, work bench, electric hoist, chain block, chains, bars, hammers, chisels, wrenches, straight edge, templates, gas torches, arc air, plasma & air tools, press, forklift, overhead crane, has fired heat treat ovens, winch and cables, cooling ovens.

SALARY

• Starting salary - $24.21–$25.74/ hour + premiums (as per collective agreement)
